From Amersfoort

September 13, 2012

A card from Amersfoort, the second largest city of the province of Utrecht in central Netherlands. The card shows Armando Museum which burned down in 2007. The Tower of Our Lady in the background, a Late Gothic building is one of the most eye-catching monuments in town and the third highest church tower in the Netherlands. The nickname of the tower is Lange Jan ('Long John').

DierenPark Amersfoort

August 10, 2012

DierenPark Amersfoort is a 10-hectare (25-acre) zoo located on the West side of Amersfoort, in the province of province of Utrecht. The zoo was founded in 1948. Initially it was a very small zoo with a monkey, a bear, a camel and some farm animals. In the years afterwards the first carnivore arrived, and in 1956 the elephants Indra and Rani. Another Zoo I definitely have to visit.
