Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum

The Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum represents an inseparable combination of zoo, aquarium and natural history museum. On an area of about 2000 square meters, around 500 animal species are exhibited in 25 themed rooms in aquariums, terrariums and a tropical hall. Moreover, the exhibition includes 1,400 natural history exhibits, models and interactive stations.

Kinosaki Marine World

Kinosaki Marine World is located on the scenic Hiyoriyama Coast in Hyogo Prefecture. It is located in Sanin Kaigan National Park. Marine World boasts several attractions, including with a museum describing the history and geology of the nearby coast. There are several dolphin & sea lions shows daily, penguin marches, backstage tours, and a tide pool where you can touch and feel sea stars.

Särkänniemi

Särkänniemi is an amusement park in Tampere, located in the district by the same name. The park features an aquarium, a planetarium, Doghill Fairytale Farm, an art museum and an observation tower Näsinneula. The Aquarium was opened in 1969. It has a total combined aquarium volume of 550,000 litres  and is home to more than 3,000 animals representing 200 species. The park gave up the dolphinarium in 2016 and the dolphins were safely transported to Attica Zoological Park in Greece.

Tennesee Aquarium

The Tennessee Aquarium is a non-profit public aquarium located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It opened in 1992 on the banks of the Tennessee River in downtown Chattanooga, with a major expansion added in 2005. Lemur Forest, home to ring-tailed and red-ruffed lemurs, opened in 2017. Lemur Forest encompasses more than 125 feet of horizontal distance and dozens of feet of elevation changes.

Orcas

Beautiful orcas sent from China. Of the country’s 22 captive orcas, 15 were imported from Russia’s Sea of Okhotsk and seven were captive-born. Most of China’s orcas were only put on display in fall 2023, in a brand-new facility in Zhuhai called Chimelong Spaceship.😞

Mystic Aquarium

Mystic Aquarium is a marine aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut. It is one of only two U.S. facilities holding Steller sea lions, and it has the only beluga whales in New England. Special exhibits include the largest outdoor beluga whale habitat in the United States, a ray and shark touch pool, an African penguin exhibit, a jelly gallery, and the new Dino Seas: An Immersive Journey exhibit.

Audubon Aquarium

Looming large against the Mississippi River is the world-renowned Audubon Aquarium. Home to more than 3,600 animals and 250 species, the Aquarium lets visitors get up close and eye-to-eye with some of the most fascinating creatures of the ocean. Audubon Aquarium is an AZA-accredited facility and ranked #5 as a USA Today Readers’ Choice 10Best aquarium. Renovations to the modern-style building have further elevated the Audubon Aquarium experience and include a new 2,500-square-foot atrium lobby with stunning views of the Mississippi River. Audubon Insectarium is now located in the same building and includes a 264 square-foot motion reactive dispay wall that uses the latest technology to bring images of butterflies and lightning bugs to “life” and react to guests presence and movement.

National Aquarium

The many species of dolphins, like the Atlantic bottlenose dolphin seen at the National Aquarium in Baltimore are actually small toothed whales. Best known of the dolphin species, the bottlenose has recieved much attention on its exploits and intelligence. The total length of a bottlenose dolphin can measure up to twelve feet, with an average weight between 500 and 1,200 pounds. It can swim up to speeds of 14 knots and dive for more than 6 to 7 minutes, where it feeds on a variety of fishes, squid, shrimps and crabs.

The aquarium has more than 17,000 specimens representing over 750 species and is the largest tourism attraction in the State of Maryland.T he National Aquarium houses several exhibits including the Upland Tropical Rain Forest, a multiple-story Atlantic Coral Reef, an open-ocean shark tank, and Australia: Wild Extremes, which won the Best Exhibit award from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in 2008. The aquarium opened a marine mammal pavilion in 1990, and currently holds six Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. Of the six, five were born at the National Aquarium, one was born at another American aquarium.

Voronezh Oceanarium

The Voronezh Oceanarium is located in the shopping-entertainment center City Park Grad on the outskirts of Voronezh in the village of Solnechnyy. Its collection includes more than 300 species of fish and other animals like reptiles, mammals, invertebrates and birds. Among them are such rare species as sand tiger shark, giant green Caribbean moray eel, Okinawa dragon moray eel, mata mata turtle, Humboldt penguin and others. The route for viewing the aquarium’s exhibition includes four thematic zones: Forests and steppes, Polar waters, Jungles and Seas and oceans.

Kira and May

Toba Aquarium is a public aquarium, which is located in Toba, Mie. The aquarium houses 12 zones which reproduce natural environments, housing some 25,000 individuals representing 1,200 species. Toba Aquarium also emphasizes protection and breeding of rare marine creatures which are in danger of extinction. Notable breeding events include the birth of a finless porpoise, a birth of the second generation sea otter for the first time in Japan. Only three sea otters remain at aquariums in Japan, and they are now treated like rock stars because of their advancing years. Japan was once home to dozens of the cute mammals. But the species became endangered in the wild, and trade in sea otters fell under strict regulations. Two of the remaining three otters are 15-year-old Kira and 18-year-old May, both female, in Toba Aquarium.
