Ushuaia

January 14, 2026

Ushuaia is a resort town in Argentina. It's located on the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, the southernmost tip of South America, nicknamed the “End of the World.” The windswept town, perched on a steep hill, is surrounded by the Martial Mountains and the Beagle Channel. It's the gateway to Antarctica cruises and tours to nearby Isla Yécapasela, known as “Penguin Island” for its penguin colonies.

Flags of the World - Argentina

October 24, 2025

The flag features a triband in blue and white. The blue and white colors of the flag were selected by Manual Belgrano, who led the revolution against Spain. These colors are meant to symbolize the blue sky opening up to reveal white cloud. This sun represents the process of independence that started on 25th May 1810. Legend states that the sun broke out when the new Argentinian government was declared. This was received as a good sign. The sun at the center of the flag is the Inca Sun, el Sol de Mayo.
