St. Stephen's Basilica

St. Stephen, located in the center of Budapest, is one of the most important churches in Hungary as well as one of the main monuments of Budapest. St. Stephen Basilica, a catholic basilica was built in Neo-Classical style, and the church has a Greek cross ground plan. The facade is characterized by its two large bell towers. In the southern tower there is the largest bell of Hungary. The two towers feature six bells all together: five are located on the north side bell, while the largest bell is located in the southern tower.

Budapest

A beautiful owl with some nice views of Budapest, Hungary’s capital. Budapest is widely known for its well-kept pre-war cityscape, with a great variety of streets and landmarks in classical architecture. The most well-known sight of the capital is the neo-Gothic Parliament, the biggest building in Hungary with its 268 metres length, also holding the Hungarian Crown Jewels.

Vajdahunyad Castle

Vajdahunyad Castle is one of the romantic castles in Budapest, Hungary, located in the City Park by the boating lake / skating rink. The castle, despite all appearances, was built in 1896, and is in fact a fantasy pastiche showcasing the architectural evolution through centuries and styles in Hungary. The castle is the home of several festivals, concerts and the exhibitions of the Hungarian Agricultural Museum. The castle was designed by Ignác Alpár to feature copies of several landmark buildings from different parts the Kingdom of Hungary, especially the Hunyad Castle in Transylvania (now in Romania). As the castle contains parts of buildings from various time periods, it displays different architectural styles: Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque.

Liberty Bridge

The Freedom Bridge, also often called Liberty Bridge, was the third permanent bridge built in Budapest over the river Danube. The green painted iron bridge connects Buda and Pest across the River Danube and is one of the city's most beautiful. Initially built as part of the Millennium World Exhibition at the end of the 19th century, the bridge features art nouveau design, mythological sculptures and the country's coat of arms adorned on its side.

From Budapest

The Parliament Building is a notable landmark of Hungary and a popular tourist destination in Budapest. It is situated in Kossuth Square, in the Pest side of the city and on the banks of the Danube. The central area of the city along the river is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
