Igreja Nossa Senhora da Conceição

Igreja Nossa Senhora da Conceição is a stunning historical landmark located in the heart of São Filipe, on the west coast of the island of Fogo. This beautiful church, with its intricate architecture and vibrant façade, reflects the rich colonial history of the island. The church with its two impressive clock towers was built in a comparatively simple style in 1849.

Flags of the World - Cape Verde

The national flag of Cape Verde was adopted in 1992.  The 10 stars on the flag represent the main islands of the nation. The blue represents the ocean and the sky. The band of white and red represents the road toward the construction of the nation, and its colours stand for peace (white) and effort (red).
