Cowes is the largest town on Phillip Island, linked to the Mornington Peninsula by a ferry service to Stony Point and by road to the mainland via a bridge at San Remo. It is located approximately 142km and 2hrs from Melbourne CBD. Cowes Jetty was built in 1870 and remains a focal point of the town of Cowes. It is flanked by sheltered beaches. Fishing is a major attraction to the Cowes Jetty with numerous fish species available.
