Balos beach

Balos Beach is among the best beaches in Greece and one of the most beautiful beaches in Crete that lies 60 km northwest of Chania Town. It is seen as a lagoon from the hills above the beach.Balos is famous for its turquoise waters, the wild natural beauty and the beautiful exotic scenery.

Crete

Georgioupoli is a village and resort on the Greek island of Crete. It is located 43 km east of Chania, about 22 km west of Rethymno and about 100 km west of Heraklio in the Apokoronas region. There are several sandy beaches along the coast at Georgioupoli where swimming is sheltered with a breakwater. It has the longest beach on the island, with over nine kilometres of golden sand. There is abundant wildlife in the area attracted by the river and surrounding semi-wetland. Loggerhead turtles have been known to lay eggs on some of the local beaches. Formerly a small fishing village, Georgioupolis is very much a tourist town now, with many cafés, tavernas and small hotels and apartment blocks.

Rethymno

Rethymno is a city on the north coast of the Greek island of Crete, between the prefectures of Chania and Heraklion. Full of beautiful beaches, archaeological sites, Byzantine churches, quaint villages, and cosmopolitan resorts, Rethymno is one of the most beautiful places in Crete. In the old town, the Venetian Harbor is filled with fishing boats and lined with tavernas. Rethymno Lighthouse was built in the 1830s.
