Rhine promenade

January 03, 2024

The promenade on the bank of Rhine in Dusseldorf is one of the most beautiful in Germany. The promenade leads from Parliament via Mannesmannufer, Rathausufer, Burgplatz, and Tonhalle to Rhine-Park. It was created by constructing a tunnel in 1993 and routing cars underground, so that the riverside became a pedestrian area. The 240 m high Rhine Tower is right on the Rhine river, near the Media Harbor. It offers a 360-degree view from the restaurant, at 172 m. The Rheinkniebrücke, a cable-stayed bridge, is leading over the Rhine.

Another card from Düsseldorf! This card is showing the Mack Brunnen fountain and the Johanneskirche, the Rhine promenade and The Triton Fountain on the Königsallee.
The Königsallee is noted for both the landscaped canal that runs along its center, as well as for the fashion showrooms and luxury retail stores located along its sides. Nicknamed Kö by the locals, the Königsallee is by far Germany's busiest, upscale shopping street.
