Flags of the World - Eswatini

September 05, 2023

The flag of Eswatini was adopted in 1968 after Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland, gained independence from the British Empire. The red stands for past battles, the blue for peace and stability, and the yellow for the resources of Eswatini. The central focus of the flag is a Nguni shield and two spears, symbolizing protection from the country's enemies. Its color is meant to show that white and black people live in peaceful coexistence in Eswatini.

Many thanks Stanislav!

Mbabane

August 07, 2022

Mbabane is the capital city of Eswatini. It houses Sibebe Rock, one of the biggest mountains in Africa. It sits on the banks of the Mbabane River and its tributary the Polinjane River in the Mdzimba Mountains.

From Eswatini

May 12, 2022

A beautiful view from Eswatini! Lowveld or Bushveld, a natural region in southern Africa, at an elevation of about 500 to 1,000 feet is the largest region covering about 40% of the country. Much of the area is typically African bush where a wonderful profusion of indigenous wild life, birds and flora are found in protected areas.

Many thanks Selby!
