Chew Jetty

The Clan Jetties is a floating village with traditional rustic houses built on stilts above the water by Chinese immigrants in George Town from the 19th century. There are six different clan jetties, each individual jetty named after their family surname.

Wat Chayamangkalaram

Located on Lorong Burma, Wat Chayamangkalaram in Penang has a 33-metre long statue of the Reclining Buddha.

Wat Chayamangkalaram  is a Theravada Buddhist temple within George Town, Penang. It is the oldest Siamese temple in the state. Wat Chayamangkalaram becomes a focal point for the annual Songkran, Loy Krathong and Vesak Day festivities within the city. The temple features one of the world's longest reclining Buddha statues as well as several coloured statues of Yakshas and other mythical creatures.

Colourful arches in George Town

Colourful arches in George Town, the colorful, multicultural capital of the Malaysian island of Penang. Once an important Straits of Malacca trading hub, the city is known for its British colonial buildings, Chinese shophouses and mosques. Beyond the old town, George Town is a modern city with skyscrapers and shopping malls.
