Ljubljana

A beautiful panorama of Ljubljana in winter with Ljubljana Castle on the hill.
Ljubljana Castle, standing on Castle Hill above downtown Ljubljana for about 900 years, is Ljubljana's main attraction with numerous internationally recognized sustainability certifications. The castle's Outlook Tower and ramparts offer some of the most beautiful views of the city, while the castle houses a museum exhibition on Slovenian history, a puppet museum, and a number of historical rooms such as the Chapel of St George, the Prison, and a video presentation room called Virtual Castle. Ljubljana Castle can quickly be reached by funicular railway.

Ljubljana

February 18, 2022

A gorgeous views from Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital and largest city. It's known for its university population and green spaces. The curving Ljubljanica River, lined in outdoor cafes, divides the city's old town from its commercial hub.

Thanks a lot Ivana!

Prešeren Square and Triple Bridge

January 22, 2021

Prešeren Square is the central square in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is part of the old town's pedestrian zone and a major meeting point, where festivals, Ljubljana carnival, concerts, sports, political, and protest events take place. It was renovated in 2007.  The Franciscan Church of the Annunciation with the adjacent monastery, built in the second half of the 17th century, is certainly the most imposing building of Prešeren Square. The Prešeren Monument in in the eastern side of Prešeren Square, is a late Historicist bronze statue of the Slovene national poet France Prešeren.  Triple Bridge connects Prešeren Square with the colonnade of the Central Market on the other side of the river.

Thanks a lot Slavica!
