Paronella Park

Rainbow Beach

Rainbow Beach is situated on the Cooloola Coast. Striking in beauty and rippled with colourful ancient sand dunes, the coastal town of Rainbow Beach is nestled between K’gari (formerly Fraser Island) and Cooloola National Park. There is an abundance of wildlife including whales, dolphins, manta rays, turtles and a large variety of bird species. The name of the town derives from the rainbow-coloured sand dunes fronting the beach.

Hervey Bay

Hervey Bay, a coastal city in southern Queensland, is widely known as a site for observing humpback whales. Whale-watching boats operate during the July to November migration season. It's also a hub for tours to nearby Fraser Island, which has beaches and features a rainforest habitat for dingoes and other wildlife. A waterfront esplanade links the city's marina with beaches offering calm waters for swimming.

Noosa National Park

Noosa National Park is a national park in Queensland, 121 km north of Brisbane. It is situated near Noosa Heads between the Pacific Ocean and the Sunshine Coast's northern area of urban development and extends southwards, past Lake Weyba to Coolum. Noosa National Park features the spectacular coastal scenery of Noosa Headland, and nearby areas around Lake Weyba, Peregian and Coolum. Surrounded by development, this park is a wildlife sanctuary, protecting beautiful stands of eucalypt forest, woodland, melaleuca wetland, colourful wallum heathland and pockets of dense vine-strewn rainforest.

Lake McKenzie

Lake McKenzie is a perched lake 80m above sea level. A very popular swimming spot due to its fine white sand and clear blue soft water.

Lake McKenzie is located on Fraser Island in the Great Sandy National Park. Spread over 150 hectares, the lake is 5 metres deep. The sands around the lake are composed of pure, white silica and the water in the lake is also so pure it is unsuitable for many species.

Noosa Heads


Noosa Heads is located on the East Coast of Australia in the sunshine state of Queensland, 148 kilometres north of Brisbane. Great Barrier Reef


The Great Barrier Reef is a site of remarkable variety and beauty on the north-east coast of Australia. It contains the world’s largest collection of coral reefs, with 400 types of coral, 1,500 species of fish and 4,000 types of mollusc. It also holds great scientific interest as the habitat of species such as the dugong (‘sea cow’) and the large green turtle, which are threatened with extinction.

Brisbane

The Brisbane central business district lies in a curve of the Brisbane river. The CBD covers 2.2 km2 and is walkable. Brisbane's metropolitan area is broadly and colloquially divided into the northside and the southside, with the dividing line being the Brisbane River, as crossing one of the 15 bridges across the river is required to travel to the opposite side by land transport.

Diamantina River

The Diamantina River in Australia runs southwest from northern Queensland toward Lake Eyre in South Australia, the lowest point on the continent. It is one of several rivers in the Lake Eyre Basin, which is situated in Australia’s desert interior and drains approximately 15 percent of the continent.
