Regensburg Cathedral, also known as St. Peter's Cathedral, is an example of important Gothic architecture within the German state of Bavaria. It is a landmark for the city of Regensburg and the only Gothic Cathedral in Bavaria. Among the most valuable possessions of the cathedral are the 39 stained glass windows with over 1100 preserved panes, dating from the years 1310 to 1450, which bathe the cathedral in a 'holy light'.

A view from Regensburg with St. Peter’s Cathedral and the Stone Bridge, a 12th-century bridge across the Danube linking the Old Town with Stadtamhof. Until the 1930s, it was the city's only bridge across the river. It is a masterwork of medieval construction and an emblem of the city.
St. Peter's Cathedral is the only Gothic Cathedral in Bavaria. When you look up towards the spires of this imposing Gothic building, you will see kings on horseback, foolish virgins, and gargoyles with animal and human faces. It is located at the heart of the diocese, and is Regensburg's best known landmark. Regensburg is known for its well-preserved medieval core.
