Riga

August 20, 2024

Riga, Latvia’s capital, is set on the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the River Daugava. It's considered a cultural center and is home to many museums and concert halls. The city is also known for its wooden buildings, art nouveau architecture and medieval Old Town. The pedestrian-only Old Town has many shops and restaurants and is home to busy Livu Square, with bars and nightclubs.

Dome Square

October 03, 2023

Dome Square is the largest square in the Old Town. The cathedral is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Latvia, and is featured in or the subject of paintings, photographs and television travelogues. Like all of the oldest churches of the city, it is known for its weathercock.

Dome Square hosts Old Riga Christmas Market, which is by far the most sought-after holiday market in Riga.  The fair features a large central tree, a carousel, Santa Claus, music, gifts by craftsmen, and everyone's favorite fragrant Christmas goodies.

Three Brothers

September 01, 2021

The Three Brothers are the oldest medieval dwelling houses in Riga. In medieval times, Maza Pils Street was located in the outskirts of Riga and craftsmen lived there. Today, the buildings that are several centuries old house the Latvian Museum of Architecture and the State Inspectorate for Heritage Protection.
