Nora & Finja

Finja, born on November 9, 2019 at the Tiergarten Schönbrunn in Vienna with her mother Nora. Finja moved to the Nuremberg Zoo in 2023. Her father Ranzo still lives in Vienna.

Vienna State Opera House

The Vienna State Opera House was opened in 1869 with a gala performance of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni”. Since that time, it has been one of world’s leading and most famous opera houses. Great musicians have held the post of director, among them Gustav Mahler, Richard Strauss, Herbert von Karajan, Karl Böhm, Lorin Maazel and many others. The building, built in the Neo-Renaissance style, was the first major building on the Wiener Ringstraße.

Karlskirche

Karlskirche is a Baroque church in the Karlsplatz in Vienna. The church is dedicated to Saint Charles Borromeo, a leading figure of the Counter-Reformation. The church is located on the border of Wieden and the Innere Stadt, the city centre. The mighty green dome of the radiant Karlskirche towers over Karlsplatz. It is one of the most important sacred buildings in Central Europe and a symbol of Vienna. Inside, the marble look dominates with red and gold accents. In the vestibule is a 2,47 meter-tall model of the church, which faithfully presents the details of both the interior and the imposing façade.

Zoo Vienna

A giant panda in Vienna Zoo. The pandas returned to China in mid-September 2024 to spend their twilight years in their home country. A younger pair will arrive in 2025.
