Hohenschwangau is a village in the municipality of Schwangau, located on the foot of the Alps in the Allgäu area with an impressive view of the Bavarian, Lechtal and Allgäu Alps. It is the country of the Royal Castles, mountains and lakes, the most beautiful area of the Ostallgäu.
The casle shown on the card, Hohenschwangau Castle (Schloss Hohenschwangau) is a 19th century palace in southern Germany. It was the childhood residence of King Ludwig II of Bavaria and was built by his father, King Maximilian II of Bavaria.
