April 13, 2012

This card from China shows one of the Classical Gardens of Suzhou in Jiangsu province: The Lion Forest Garden, a prominent garden featuring man-made mountains with various buildings around the lake. The garden is famed for its rocks, assembled in a most fascinating manner and with secluded caves. The name of the garden derives from the shape of these rocks which are said to resemble lions.
In November 2000, the Lion Forest Garden was included in the World Cultural Heritage List by UNESCO.
