Buchanan Dam, Texas
July 12, 2012
It could be easy to mistake these patches of Texas Bluebonnets for water near this dock on Lake Buchanan.
The Buchanan Dam is a multiple arch dam located on the Colorado River of Texas.
The dam forms Lake Buchanan and was the first dam to be completed in the chain of Texas Highland Lakes. The bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas. This particular flower was selected in large part due to the vast fields of bluebonnets that bloom each spring throughout the central portion of Texas.
