Connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land, the Isle of Portland culminates at Portland Bill where the lighthouse warns shipping away from dangerous channels.
Portland Bill Lighthouse is located on the Southerly tip of the Isle of Portland, 1.2 miles south of the village of Easton. Portland is 5 miles south of the resort of Weymouth, forming the southernmost point of the county of Dorset, England.
