Köngen is located on the left side of the river Neckar on the western slopes of the Neckar valley in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg.
Römerpark Köngen is one of the most important archaeological monuments in the Esslingen district.The archaeological park with museum was created on the site of the former Roman fort Grinario.
Schloss Köngen was originally built in the 13th century. In the 19th century, the four-wing complex was converted into a two-wing classicist country palace.
