Erlangen is a Middle Franconian city in Bavaria. The Stutterheimsche Palais is the most important baroque aristocratic palace in Erlangen. It is located on the south side of the market square and was built between 1728 and 1730. Today it houses the Erlangen City Library and the Erlangen Art Palace .The Paulibrunnen, a Neo-Renaissance fountain in the middle of the market square shows two allegorical figures clad in ancient robes above the main basin.
