Bain Boeuf Beach
December 04, 2020
Bain Boeuf Beach, in the north of Mauritius with a view of Coin de Mire, also called Gunner's Quoin. Coin de Mire measures just 65 hectares and lies 8 km north of Mauritius. Gunner’s Quoin is an ancient basaltic volcanic cone. The volcanic origin of the island can be seen clearly in the natural boulders, in areas of bare rock fringing the coast and the frequent and well preserved volcanic extrusions. There are remnants of a sugar plantation set up by Dutch settlers. Gunner’s Quoin is the most western and southern islet of a group of islets situated to the north of Mauritius, known as the Northern Islets.
