The Church of Resurrection

The church of the resurrection is also known as the Church of our Savior on the Spilled Blood. It was built as a memorial to Emperor Alexander II, who was assassinated on this spot in 1881. It took over twenty years of construction work to build the romantic nationalism style church. The Church  is a former Russian Orthodox church which currently functions as a secular museum. It is one of Saint Petersburg's major attractions.
