The Swedish flag goes back to the middle of the 16th century. The design is said to have been inspired by the Danish flag, the Dannebrog.Blue and yellow (gold) have always been the traditional Swedish colours. The yellow of the cross represents generosity, while the blue background symbolizes loyalty, truth and justice.
