Approximately 200 meters from the coast of Üsküdar, the Maiden’s Tower can be found on a small island at the southern entrance of the Bosphorus. The Maiden’s Tower served many different purposes throughout the centuries, including a merchantman tax collection center, a defense tower, and a lighthouse. Today, there is a restaurant on the first floor and a café at the top of the tower.
