Gölcük Lake is an artificial lake located 13 km south of Bolu. The lake and its environs have been declared a Natural Park. The over photographed structure on the shore of the lake is the State Guesthouse of the Ministry of Forestry. Around the lake is a forest consisting of pine, beech, fir and hornbeam.
