The 42-kilometre long Lysefjord is located in Ryfylke in the county of Rogaland about 300 km south of Bergen and about 25 kilometres east of Stavanger. The National Tourist Route Ryfylke starts at the mouth of the Lysefjord in Ryfylke. The Lysefjord is carved out and shaped by glaciers during the ice ages. The Pulpit Rock and Kjerag are both internationally renowned tourist destinations.
