The old town of Porvoo, 50 kilometres from Helsinki, is a true step back into time with its historic wooden houses resting amongst a mosaic of cobblestone streets and irregularly sized plots whose arrangement dates back to the middle ages. The Old Town and the Porvoonjoki River Valley are recognized as, together, one of the National landscapes of Finland.
