The Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area is made up of 8 national parks and reserves, right on Sydney’s doorstep. In 2000, UNESCO recognised the area's outstanding geology, biodiversity and Aboriginal significance. It is one of the largest and most intact tracts of protected bushland in Australia.
