Australia is home to a fascinating and remarkable variety of wildlife, many like the delightful koala and kangaroo are inernationally renowned. Bother are marsupials which means they suckle their young and carry them in pouches. There are unique mammals like the egg-laying platypus and echidna. Australia's bird kind number well over 750 and approximately 350 are unique to Australia. The vivid colouring and noisy chatter of the parrots make them one of Australia's favourite species.
