Garden of Ginkakuji temple, Kyoto.
Originally the villa of Ashikaga Yoshimitsu built in 1483-89. The garden, with stretch of white sand and a sand mound for moon viewing, is typical of  Muromachi era.

Ginkaku-ji, Temple of the Silver Pavilion, officially named Jishō-ji, is a Zen temple in the Sakyo ward of Kyoto. It was designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1994 and is an official National Treasure of Japan.
