Liberec Zoo is the oldest zoo in the Czech Republic, founded in 1904, on the grounds of the winter quarters of a circus. The Liberec Zoo acquired its first white tigers in 1994, when it imported two-year-old siblings Isabella and Columba from the Eskilstuna Zoo in Sweden. A few years later, the zoo acquired a male Sitara from Madrid Zoo. In 2002, the first cubs were born. They were triplets.
