Flags of the World - Lebanon

November 03, 2022

The flag of Lebanon was adopted in 1943. The presence and position of the Cedar in the middle of the flag is directly inspired by the Lebanese cedar. The cedar is the symbol of Maronite Christians. The cedar of Lebanon has its origin in many biblical references. The Cedar is a representation of holiness, perpetuity and peace. The white color on the flag signifies the snow as a symbol of transparency and peace. The two red bands refer to the Lebanese blood shed to reservation the country against the consecutive invaders.
