The archaeology museum of Utrecht is located in the Roman fort called Castellum Hoge Woerd. Here you can admire the 2000 year old Roman ship De Meern I. This is the most complete Roman river craft ever discovered in north-west Europe. Much of the ship’s interior and captain’s personal belongings were preserved in the cabin, including a rare collection of tools.
