Pitcairn Island

December 31, 2022

Pitcairn, the only inhabited island, is a small volcanic outcrop situated in the South Pacific. Adamstown is the capital and only settlement of the Pitcairn Islands. The town only has about 40 to 45 permanent inhabitants making it the smallest capital in the world. Most public services are located at or near the central square.  Only three square miles of land, with steep cliffs all around, the sole anchorage is at Bounty Bay which is tenable only in settled weather.

Many thanks for this precancelled postcard of Pitcairn Island Amelia!
