The Rehberger Graben is part of the World Heritage Route of the UNESCO World Heritage in the Harz Mountains. The Upper Harz water-management system, through its extensive surface area, including a large number of artificial ponds and ditches, together with drains and underground shafts, bears testimony to the importance of the management and use of water for mining purposes, from the Middle Ages until the end of the 20th century.
