Zelenci Springs
August 24, 2023
Zelenci Springs is a nature reserve, part of the Kranjska Gora region in Triglav National Park. Located near the village of Podkoren, this charming park is famous for its iconic lake district, well-known throughout Europe. The water's colour is green, hence its name, as the word Zelenci means green in Slovenian. Zelenci do not freeze in winter, their constant temperature throughout the year is about 6°C. Many interesting plant species, including carnivorous sundews, have found a home in this nature reserve, and amphibians and nesting birds are richly represented among animals.
