The Lotus Temple, located in Delhi, is a Baháʼí House of Worship that was dedicated in December 1986. Notable for its lotus-like shape, it has become a prominent attraction in the city. Like all Bahá’í Houses of Worship, the Lotus Temple is open to all, regardless of religion.
Set on an elevated plinth in a 10.5-hectare expanse of landscaped gardens and surrounded by nine pools bordered by red sandstone walkways, the white marble edifice rises to a height of more than 40 metres. The temple complex comprises 27 independent marble petals.
