Gros Morne National Park is recognized a a UNESCO World Heritage site for its exceptional beauty and unique geological features. The Tablelands, as shown opposite, is a 600 metre high plateau that forms one of the world's best examples of rock exposed from the earth's interior. Rock usually found only deep beneath the ocean interior.
