Québec City

Colourful night lights show off the beauty of Lower Town and the majesty of the Château Frontenac.

The impressive Château Frontenac is Québec City's most famous landmark. The luxurious hotel perched atop Cape Diamond since the late 19th century was designed to convey prestige in keeping with its Old Québec surroundings. Historic events have taken place in the building, and famous people have stayed there. Opened in 1893, the Châteauesque-styled building has 18 floors. It is one of the first completed grand railway hotels, and was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1981.
