The Abbey of St. Martin du Canigou is a monastery built in 1009 in the Pyrenees of Northern Catalonia on Canigou mountain in present-day southern France near the Spanish border. It is located on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. The bell tower decorated with arcades, the abbey church and the vaulted crypt make the abbey a jewel of the first regional Romanesque art.
