Russell Falls

One of the prettiest falls in Australia, Russell Falls tumbles 40 metres over two tiers to to the rainforest below. Nearby huge swamp gums (Eucalyptus Regnans) tower 90 metres above the forest floor, the tallest hardwood trees in the world.

Russell Falls is situated in the southern part of the Central Highlands, in the Mt. Field National Park. Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes drive west from Hobart, Russell Falls is accompanied by Horseshoe Falls and Lady Barron Falls. Mount Field National Park is one of Tasmania’s oldest national parks and part of the  Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.
