Comprising more than fifty thousand statues carved from sandstone outcrops at seventy-five different sites, the Dazu Rock carvings constitute a high point in the history of cave temple art in China. It saw the sinicization and secularization of Buddhism in China. Built during the Southern Song Dynasty, Thousand-Hand Guanyin Statue is the peak work of Guanyin statues and the largest hand-holding Guanyin statue in the country. Upon entering the Buddha Cave, you will be attracted by the nearly thousand hands on the wall and the huge main statue, which is even more magnificent and majestic after being gilded and restored.
