The Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor is a massive burial complex located at the northern foot of Lishan Mountain, 35 kilometers northeast of Xi'an. It houses the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China, and is renowned for its accompanying terracotta army, a massive collection of life-sized terracotta warriors and horses guarding the tomb. The small figures are all different. With their horses, chariots and weapons, they are masterpieces of realism and also of great historical interest.
