Poço do Inferno is a natural waterfall at an altitude of 1,080 metres, set in a forested area of great beauty. With a waterfall over 10 metres high, its waters are clear and fresh, feeding the waters of the Ribeira de Leandres. This is one of the most stunning places in the Serra da Estrela Nature Park above the scenic town of Manteigas. The park is the largest natural conservation area in Portugal and occupies about 1,000 km2. More than half of its area is located above an altitude of 700 m.
