Konetsdvorye is a rural village located in Arkhangelsk Oblast, a region in northwestern Russia. It includes the Arctic archipelagos of Franz Josef Land and Novaya Zemlya, as well as the Solovetsky Islands in the White Sea. Arkhangelsk Oblast is famous for its wooden buildings which include churches, chapels, peasant houses and farms, and city houses. It is a prime location to witness the Northern Lights. The best time to see the lights is from mid-September to mid-April, during the equinoxes. The further you travel from populated areas, the more spectacular the display can be.
