The island of Cres is known for its untouched nature, beautiful beaches and crystal clear sea. Sparsely populated, it's covered in dense primeval forests, and boasts a craggy coastline of soaring cliffs, hidden coves and ancient hilltop towns.T he city of Cres is the biggest town on the island and its administrative centre. It is located in the north-eastern part of a wide snug bay which from ancient times served as a good shelter from storms.
