The dolphin lagoon in Nuremberg Zoo where dolphins swim together with sea lions under the open sky. They currently have 6 dolphins and 7 sea lions. With an area of 65 hectares, it is one of the largest zoos in Europe and the second largest zoo in Germany. Since 2018, the Nuremberg Zoo has only been home to female bottlenose dolphins. The facility is no longer participating in captive breeding.
