Sagrada Familia

October 24, 2025

The Sagrada Família is the most famous work of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has been under construction for over 140 years, with the cornerstone laid in 1882. The building is a stunning blend of Spanish Gothic, Art Nouveau, and Catalan Modernism. It is noted for its unique organic, nature-inspired elements, with columns designed to look like tree trunks. The church features three main façades, each depicting a different part of the life of Jesus. Once completed, the basilica will have 18 spires of varying heights. The tallest, at 172.5 meters, will honor Jesus Christ, making the Sagrada Família the world's tallest church.
