The Seridó Geopark, located in the heart of the northeastern semi-arid region in Rio Grande do Norte, is a geological and cultural treasure created with the mission of preserving and valuing the region’s rich natural and historical diversity. Its creation was driven by the need to protect the unique geological heritage, formed millions of years ago by natural processes that shaped the local landscape and terrain. Officially founded in 2022, the Seridó Geopark is part of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network, recognized for its scientific, educational, and touristic relevance.
